MoCo at 250: A Montgomery History Art Exhibit

MoCo Then & Now Art Exhibit

To celebrate the new Montgomery History Center and the County’s 250th, Montgomery History invites Montgomery County artists to submit work to their inaugural art exhibit titled, "MoCo at 250: Then and Now."

They encourage artists to reflect on 250 years of our people and our places to submit work that will be displayed in their History Center exhibit hall this fall. They seek art that highlights our county's flora, fauna, landscapes, and communities -- along with work that meditates on where we've been and where we're heading.

What local people, events, stories, and places inspire you?

This art exhibit is in dialogue with their Unfinished Revolution publication which uplifts the stories and perspectives previously excluded from Montgomery County’s historical record, including that of Black residents.

They encourage artists to use Montgomery History's library, collections, and oral history databases for inspiration. Artists can use available published issues of Unfinished Revolution for inspiration as well.

Key Dates

  • Submission Deadline: Sunday, August 2, 2026 11:59pm EST via Jotform.

  • Artist Notification: by Friday, August 21, 2026
