Juneteenth & the reopening of Pleasant View Historical Site

What a week!

First we went to the Juneteenth celebration in Kensington. Our volunteers tabled, Daryl Davis played jazz, and Jason Green was enthusiastic about his new book, "Too Precious to Lose."

Then we went to Juneteenth at Scotland. Other groups like See Us Advocacy and Friends of Moses/Gibson Grove were there and our volunteers did a terrific job, as always. We met lots of new friends and heard some interesting stories!

And then we were delighted to enjoy the reopening of the Pleasant View Historical Site in Quince Orchard. The school and church were redone, in and out. A number of politicians came, including romer County Executive Ike Leggett, who gave a speech. And Rev. Green rang the church bell so everyone could hear it.

All-in-all, a fun and inspiring week.
